Enable Personal Hotspot on iPhone

The Personal Hotspot feature is found in Settings towards the top, however may need to be enabled first within the Mobile Data section:

  1. Open Settings App
  2. Tap on General Settings_General
  3. Tap on Mobile Data or Cellular Data (depending which is displayed) General_MobileData
  4. Tap on Personal HotspotMobileData_HotSpot
  5. Slide the Personal Hotspot switch to On.
  6. You may be prompted to turn on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, if these are not already enabled. Turn on Wi-Fi & Bluetooth.
  7. Make note of the Wi-Fi Password.
  8. On your other device, connect to the iPhone network that has just been created using the Wi-Fi password.
  9. Your other device will no be able to access the internet using your phone’s data connection
  • Be aware of how much data you have available under your mobile phone plan and what costs are associated with data usage.
  • Personal Hotspot should not be available in the top section of the Settings app.
  • Personal Hotspot will timeout after a period of inactivity. Return to the Personal Hotspot settings
